However, motivation is difficult to find when the guarantee of release is not trustworthy. All Alexandra has is the thought of her daughter to keep her strong. In this story, revenge, tragedy, and family all motivate the characters in one way or another. The horrific, brutal, and sad elements of the story show themselves through backstory and how every life ties into another. Anyone can make an impact upon anyone else... be it good or bad, intended or not so.
