When Lance starts to feel like the team doesn't value him as a paladin of Voltron he starts to cut himself off from everyone. This shows to be difficult when Keith seems to have a large interest in Lance; what Lance does to keep his skin looking healthy and about his family.

Lance wants to cut off everyone an skits train to become what they all want; an obedient sharpshooter who doesn't let petty feelings get in the way. But that isn't Lance. Lance is someone who needs to express their feelings or else they bottle them up and burst. Lance isn't someone to mindlessly follow orders that could lead to the death of his friends or him. Lance isn't the perfect sharpshooter they all want.

He's Lance. Amazing Lance. The Lance that can make anyone smile even on their worst of days. The same Lance that can hide all of his own pain behind a smile. A mask. But like all masks, they break apart after too long.

Now Lance has to deal with the disappointment of his new 'family', because that's what they are, right? A family - loving, caring, understanding. People who are there for you when you need them. They are your lifelong friends, the people you share all the good and bad moments with and still love each other afterwards.
