Night was the illegitimate son of the King of Crolux and a prostitute who he has very little memory of. He could never become king and he was fine with that and content with just being the captain of the royal guard with his best friend Persivell. When he bumped into the thieving, blue winged man, Jayfeather, his peaceful life was over. Falling in love with the outcast was the least of his worries when he realizes his stepmother planned to kill him.
