Bound

She's bound in this society.
She's bound in this world.
She's bound in this marriage and she's bound in this unhappiness.

It has all been forced upon her. Shoveled down her throat and imprinted into her brain.
She can't forget it- even if she wants to.
"Don't bring shame to the family"
"You're such a disgrace"
"Skinny is pretty"
"Your father knows best"
"He can do whatever he likes"
"That's life"
"Don't you dare do anything about it"
"How could you be so selfish?"
"You're worthless to us now"
"Why were you not a boy?"
"We should have aborted you on the spot."

And then:
