Back in June, I decided to take the "A to Z Challenge", which usually involves writing something centered around one word corresponding to each letter of the alphabet. It being a short story challenge, occurring weekly, I decided to "up the ante" to incorporate the rules of a Suggestion Box list (Name, Place, Time, and Object) and turn it into the next iteration of this series!
Forthwith, I went through every letter of the alphabet and tried to look back over any previous story that I'd written (except the fanfiction) to find characters whose names began with each letter. Most of the time, I could find a character from a previous Suggestion Box installment (so be sure and check out the referred "original stories", always noted at the beginning of the tale!) but I also took the opportunity to use characters from other unfinished novels, and even a few opportunities for tie-in stories to my published novella, "Princess of Undersea."

The Standouts - A Critique Contest by PAULAPDX (Summer 2019 Edition) by paulapdx

🛑 - CLOSED until 2021. ***If you're interested in my critiques, you might want to check out my weekly newsletter for opportunities to get a personalized critique. https://paula.substack.com/p/coming-soon Does your work stand out in an overly-crowded landscape? Does your story & writing shine as far as: ★ - Concept ★ - Voice ★ - Storytelling The Standouts is a fun, but hopefully helpful contest that can give you a sense of whether your story resonates with someone who's got some experience under her belt. Great! But who are you to judge? Fair question. This is not to humble-brag, but I've been critiquing and have worked with story development for quite some time, and I've picked up a lot along the way. ☙ - As an Ambassador, I work on content projects. ☙ - If you look at my profile, you'll see everything I've published so far has managed to standout in one way or another, whether by leading me to become a Wattpad Star; or by winning a Watty (twice!); or by being picked as a Top 10 in major Wattpad contests (twice!); or being featured. All I'm saying is I'm no slouch. I'm not brilliant either. But I've got some experience around what can catch an agent, editor, or judge's eye, and I'd like to share that with the community. ☙ - In another lifetime, I used to work for HBO in Development and at ICM (the talent agency) in their writers' department which means I understand how professionals quickly gauge whether or not they'll take a closer look at a work and/or make an offer. This kind of insight can be helpful if you're planning to submit your work or even just want to stand out more here on Wattpad. ☙ - I used to provide critiques for three writers, all of them traditionally published. They seemed to value my insight. Read the RULES, LOGISTICS & PRIZES chapter for guidelines. All entries get a brief assessment of their first chapter, with winners getting more extensive critiques. Sound interesting? Give it a go! 😊
Book 6: Fabled Songs by MysticMew90
7 parts Complete Mature
Note: 6a was inspired by FnF by Newgrounds. Recap: 6a Timeline 1.5 Ruby found Timeline 1.0 Jack in the Sundriverse, managing to mistake him for 1.5 Jack. When 1.0!Jack comes to, he is at a monster's home. What types of adventures will this go into? Find out. It is recommended to check out my Youtube for the full Osts of this book, although... this is kinda inspired by Friday Night Funkin. 6A will cover as to why the timeline is like how it is 6B will cover the fairytale version of things. I don't want this to be a mod. Disclaimers (?): -I haven't really read any fairytales in an excruciatingly long time, nor even heard of any new ones. The only one i'm focusing on is a little based on Jack and the beanstalk. However, I am and will try(ing) to practice in putting more chapters in preparation for book 12. Remember: I have done the first Cycle (seasons) out of order. The order I did them is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10A, 11, 10B(R), 6, 8, and 12. Next season will hopefully not be out of order... ok maybe except for 1. 14, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20. -Obviously, do not read these out of order... or... do whatever - I'm not your boss. I am attempting to make 8's and 6's scripts as if they are made in-order. If not, then Ima need some help in criticism. Or... just read them in order as how I published it. Also, Might do a Pim-related side story. Who's Pim? Ok buddy, go read books 4 and 5. - In exchange for more chapters for this book, I might be lowering the amount of words used to it, or they might be at least 1000, which is the normal word count for my books (hey, don't go peeking in book 3 just because it's way over that number). They might or might not be the same for upcoming book 12. Creation date: 03/08/20
