These were the words that made up my vocabulary since I was a child watching the twirling princess waiting patiently for Prince Charming to sweep her off her feet and live happily Ever after.
This was my ultimate future goal at twenty-four, I was kissing a lot of frogs, dating a few trolls and defeating some witchy mother-in-laws and believe me I kissed so many slimy frogs that remained frogs until my lips became numb.

When I was a little girl, I believed in fairy tales. I believed in princes and princesses and knights in shining armor. I believed in forever and happily ever afters. I was ten when reality hit me. My mom brought the evil home with her and there was no escaping it. That's when I learned that fairy tales were just that: fairy tales. The bad stuff is real, though. The difference is that I now know that the monsters and evil villains don't always wear capes and ugly scars. No: most of the time, they appear normal. I'm drowning in reality, in my life, and I've given up hope that a knight in shining armor will rescue me. But maybe... maybe I don't need a Prince Charming after all. I am not the one to fall head over heels in love with someone and he is not the guy someone should even fall in love with. But there are all the witty comebacks, the unplanned meetings at the bar, the rides on his motorcycle, all the laughs we share before the morning ... It does something to both of us. It changes us to the extent where we suddenly can't live without all of this. He is not a good guy. He's as bad as it gets. But he's perfect for me. I want to believe our story is a modern fairy tale with a more realistic ending. You won't get the princess-prince bullshit from me. You'll get it how it is with no sugar-coating.
