Tom carefully lit his smoke and studied the man before him with care, his experienced eyes taking in every minute detail that would mean little to someone whose life didn't hinge on the details. The man was quiet, collected, a calm look of self-assurance in his eyes. He wore gray buckskin pants and vest, homemade from the look of them, and his shirt was home spun black cotton, and reasonably new. His boots were made for walking, not riding, and were scuffed and well worn. He wore no gun, but that did not diminish in the slightest the air of confidence in him. He had large, thick hands, broad shoulders, a thick neck, a wide jaw, and the faint line of a scar from his ear lobe to the slight cleft in his chin. His coffee colored eyes were piercing and flat, utterly lacking expression.

"No, I don't reckon you're here to raise a fuss. Take it as a friendly warning though. I don't abide trouble makers in my town, and I don't back down." The marshal spoke with deliberate calmness.

The drifter rose slowly and smoothly to his feet, his long lean frame now towering over the marshal. Tom was careful to not move, or show any concern at all. The man looked down at him, something that might have once been humor flickering in his eyes.

"Then I reckon that'll do for both of us, Marshal. I'm not one to back down myself."

Axel may be adored and worshipped by his peer-but he hates people, except 5. So when a beautiful but closed off girl suddenly enters his group. He is not welcoming of the mysterious beauty despite the pull they both feel. •••• WARNING: This was written many moons ago. I have decided to put it back up because of a large request from readers. However, I was a kid when I wrote this so take it with a grain of salt. *** Like a deer in head lights, I freeze and watch as the car comes towards me expecting to get hit. But to my surprise, the car swerves to the side slightly next to me and comes to a stop. I take a deep breath I didn't know I was holding at the driver's side door swings open and a very pissed off Axel steps out. "Thank god," I mumble and place my hands on my knees to catch my breath. "Blaze?" He says and I hate it. I hate how he says my name as if it's his. Like he knows it's the only thing I want to hear, him calling out to me, looking at me, focused to me. It's the first time in my life I wanted someone's attention so badly I didn't care how I got it. And that was too dangerous for me to hold onto. "Are you insane or some shit? I could have killed you!" He says and starts to walk towards me. I take a big breath and step back away from him, "s-stop! Axel," I stutter still panting. It's then he notices the blood on my hands and shirt. "Is that blood?" He asks staring at my shirt and I take another step back. "Stop, stay b-back," I try to say confidently but I can't even breath right. Realizing he won't listen I start to turn around planning to make a break for it. "Don't run from me Blaze it won't go well," he growls reading my thoughts causing me to freeze in my spot. "Do not ever think you can get away from me."

"Goddess," he begged. "Please help me protect my people." "God," Another one prayed in the front seat of his truck. "Please help me keep my kids safe." "They're all I have left." They both spoke in unison, reaching the ears of their respective deities. They were both some of the strongest men of faith, going through so much hardship. While one tries to protect their home, another seeks to find a safe one for his family. "I believe it's time," She spoke to the woman next to her. High in the sky they floated, their dresses dancing in the moonlight. While her dress was one with the beams of soft white light, the other woman had a dress of gold, showing the sunlight that she mainly stayed in. Her wings were pure white, her hair a vibrant red. She had much color, while she kept with the soft colors of the moon, her own hair white and long, soft as silk. "I can't promise that it will be perfect in the beginning," the angel spoke, looking down at the man in the truck. "But he is of a kind heart, even if it is untrusting at first." "I'm sure Declan can handle that," the Goddess of the Moon smiled at her. "Out of all the challenges he has faced, I'm positive that this won't be difficult for him to achieve." "Out of all the challenges that my soldier has faced," the angel grew a worried look. "I'm worried that this might be the most difficult." *** Wolf Peak has many tales of good and bad, but never has it struggled as much as it was right then. At this point, they're willing to take any chances they can to save their residents from evil in the forests. Even if that means trusting a new family coming into town. With clashing religions and trigger fingers, both men are in for a bumpy ride.

Brianna and her best friend, Aubrey, were walking home from a football match when suddenly two men came out from the bushes with masks. Aubrey was paralyzed with fright but Brianna was completely calm. "Look what we've got here." the tall and muscular man said. Brianna could see the gun which was visibly showing on his side. "This can go the easy way, or the hard way." the other said and Aubrey let out a whimper. Brianna dropped her bag and then addressed the idiots who stood in front of her. They were taken aback by her demeanor as any other person in a situation like this would be in fright, like Aubrey who was too scared to even blink her eye. "No, you listen. This can go the easy way and we won't call the police or the hard way, with you being in a prison cell with a ton of gay men." she said boldly. Brianna suddenly received a hard slap to her face which caused her to stumble and see black spots and two guns now pointed at them. Aubrey let out a scream which was quickly muffled by the other man, who seemed younger than the one who had hit Brianna. Brianna's face was red now, but not from the slap, rather from the anger which was building up from the fact that these amateur men were about to either rob or kidnap them. Suddenly, a white van appeared and before either of the girls could run, they were grabbed and thrown into the van, with the two men shutting the door and the van screeching off into the night. __________ Read to find out what happens.

Thomas Alexander Withson is the second oldest son to the deceased Johnathan A. Withson. His uncle sent him an invitation to a formal event in Paris. Tommy read the letter as carefully as a scientist would observe his report. Then, he contacted an old friend and set foot into travelling. EXTRACT : I shook my head and thought this was a waste of bloody time. I could have spent my life somewhere in a place that would offer great experience. But instead of that imagination, I got a bump on the shoulder from a female person walking by. "I apologize," the woman said. Her voice was soft and it gave an air of elegance. I looked at her face and settled on her eyes. "Everything's okay, no worries," I said, attempting to be polite. She was accompanied by a man in a brown suit, who I assumed to be her friend. He did not look like a husband or boyfriend. Neither did he look fit for the position. "I apologize," the woman said again, this time she sounded concerned and worried. "Everything's okay," I replied. Her eyes were covered by a dark velvet-purplish masquerade mask that matched the color of her gown all together. Her dress was the color of black and purple. I took a quick glance and that was all I got. I did not want to pay attention to an outfit, but rather to the person herself. She gulped hesitatingly before her lips formed a welcoming and gentle smile. She tilted her head slightly to the side. "You don't look familiar," she said. I glanced across at the man who remained unmoving from his position like a Secret Service detail. He was bulk enough to be considered a tough guy. He looked to be in his early thirties. There was a mustache above his thin lips and it was shaped like a boat upside down. I averted my attention back to the woman and took a small step forward. "Hey," the man said. "Back away, pal. Don't be too close." The crowds were still active in the background. I moved slightly further and kept a neutral expression.

"Let them go, Dante." I whip my head to see a small boy standing the clearing with blonde hair and a green cloak hanging from shoulders. He isn't very tall however he holds his stance well. He doesn't seem to be more than Cassandra's age. Maybe 12 at most. I abruptly turn my head back hearing the man holding a sword to my throat chuckling with a sinister grin. "Oh, poor boy, what are you go to do about it?" The yellow teeth gleam as he begins stalking towards the boy who does not look the least bit fazed. I look around at the other men who are following the leader. I pull Cassandra tighter to my back as I take small steps back. I keep my eye trained on the men but also fear for the naive boy. "Do you really want to test me Dante?" He asks raising a single eyebrow. For a minute the men stop their movements. I see their hesitation for fear... Fear of what? I take the moment to stick Cassandra behind a nearby tree. She crouches down while I pull my sword out from its place. "How do you know my name?" The scoundrel raises his sword challenging towards the boy before taking a final step towards him. Then the unexpected happens. The young boy chuckles so darkly. It sounded almost... demonic. All the men instinctively raise their swords. "Oh Dante, I didn't know your name... but you know someone dear to me." "Spit it out boy!" The once grinning man is now looking around frantically. I continue my eyes scanning the small boy. He looks directly me and gives me a small nod before saying one word that caused all hell to breaks loose. "Artemis." Artemis is not an ordinary girl. She grew up in the wilderness after being shunned due to unique abilities and her different physical attributes. Blessed with an ability that scared others, she roams the wild with only her guarded one. That is until she stumbles into a situation that brings her in front of a prince.

Noticing a silhouette of a man escaping with duffle bags full of money crawling out of the fire. At this point, I only had one motive. To get rid of all evil in my way. My wolf smiles devilishly as I start Walking towards the man on the floor. "I need to get out of there before that monster finds me!" I could hear him say with fear in his voice. Keith tried contacting me through our comms. "Rose? Where are you?" He asked. "Trying to catch a runaway. Why? What's wrong?" I say as I sneak behind the escapee. "We're about to head out on the carrier planes, you're missing, but I think I know where you are now, and I just realized you've basically killed all of our evidence." He said with sarcasm in his voice. I look at the man I'm standing over. Pressing the button on the comm to speak I say, "You ruin my fun." With sarcasm as I knock him out. Keith responds with a chuckle and leaves static in my ear. I knock the escapee out, hoist him over my shoulder, and start making my way back to the carrier planes. As I approach the planes, Keith is waiting for me with a smirk on his face. "You always know how to make an entrance, Rose," he says as he helps me load the unconscious man onto the plane. Once we're in the air, Keith scolds me about the evidence. I pin him up against the wall and say in a low growl, "Are you forgetting who's Alpha?" He smirks and nips my nose.
