When L loses a bet to Light, he's met with something he didn't expect.

Love means nothing in Tennis, but it's worth everything outside the confines of game.

All is fair in love and war. Yet, love and war can never truly work alongside each other.

Kira and L can't be friends, let alone lovers. "Ryuzaki" and Light Yagami don't know this when they vow to work together in their early days in school.

Inevitably their happy ending is as inevitably impossible as a peaceful end to a violent battle such as the one they'd recently studied in their joke of a freshman history course- the French Revolution.

Courting is a thing of the past (and not mentioned in this story, though the pun is one of many that are funny) but modern romance isn't as fancy. The modern implications of studying history prove one thing here:

A vow of unity can never last against a fight for power and control. Not in France two hundred years ago, and not in Japan today.

||This is my first story published since Arnold's troubles. I dedicate it to him, and restate how much he means to me. I love you my chocolate creamsicle. L's love for sweets pales in comparison to my yearning for you.||
