I met him at my darkest. He was light-too bright, too beautiful. As if the world could never quite hold him. He had a mischievous smile, eyes full of stars, and a habit of saying the most ridiculous things right when I needed them. He made fun of me and I rolled my eyes. Somehow, in between the sarcasm and stubbornness, he became the only person I didn't want to lose. He offered me a strange deal. I said yes, mostly out of spite. But then he made me laugh again. He made me feel alive. He made me stay. At that time, I didn't know how much he would change me. Or how hard it would be to let him go. He was light. He was MY LIGHT. Not because he stayed, but because he changed everything before he left...
