Patton was the first of Thomas' aspects to be created. For awhile, it was just him and Thomas against the big crazy world. Then the others came along. Every time a new aspect showed up, Patton felt the responsibility of a parent. To care for them, introduce them to everything in the Mindscape and show them how to protect Thomas. Logan is very centered and smart so something to do with the mind makes sense. And Patton being the fatherly trait it's perfectly understandable for him to grow and raise life. But Virgil, his power doesn't make sense. Why would a paranoid, nervous, fearful, anxious trait have wings?
