When Luke's parents are involved in a tragic car accident, everyone feels he should be grateful he survived, even if he wished he didn't. His mind is torture to be left with and after a year of self-hatred and frightening anger, his brother, Jack, somehow persuades him to go see a therapist.

Annie McCain, a 24 year-old therapist, has no idea what she's getting herself into when she offers to see Luke three times week. She soon realises he doesn't just need a therapist but a friend, yet that doesn't turn out the way she planned. 

Neither of them could have planned this.

Skyler Aviana Hemmings. The youngest of the Hemmings family. She used to be the bubbly, kinda girly sister of Luke, Jack and Ben. Luke's age is the closest age to Skyler's, thus her and Luke has a stronger relationship. But everything drastically changed when Luke's band became very well known and he'd tour for a number of months. She grew distant from everyone except for her friends Percy, Avan and Drew. She'd avoid him and always go out until he'll have to go back on tour. But he went to tour for 10 months.
