It was a mystery to Infinity Swanson how mountain climbers did it, look at the face of death and chuckle. Her life has been the definition of ordinary, a single mother of a college-bound son, and the chances of her embarking on an adventure was near zero. 

But one night transforms everything, and she is forced to examine everything she ever knew about herself, or the lack of it. Old friends come knocking expressing sympathy. Everything that was once easy became a pain to do. 

Then she discovers something embedded beneath her son's seemingly open exterior... something strange, about Antarctica. 

Was it a coincidence seven people disappeared the day after she found it?
