Amnesty "Blue" Jae Culver has never had a normal life. Her mother died during childbirth leaving Amnesty, and her twin sister Amethyst, alone with their father, Tristan. At the age of five they both began having imaginary friends that only that twin could see. Amnesty's imaginary friend was referred to as "Dae", whereas Amethyst's friend was referred to as "Ar". When it came time for them to start going to school, their father was on the fence about it. After a few weeks his feelings were proven true. Not only did a teacher slap Amnesty, but the same teacher left both of the girls outside unattended. From that day forward the twins were home schooled. At the age of fifteen, Amnesty and Amethyst are forced to move from New York to Virginia. For the first time since they were six, they are going to public school. Unfortunately this doesn't make their lives more normal. In fact it's about to go from weird to weirder.
