16-year-old Letty Spacer drowned herself in misery. She simply hated the many rules and numerous restrictions her parents surrounded her with. She couldn't do this, she couldn't do that. Don't go there, don't go here...don't, don't and don't. Naturally, like most teens, she hated these restrictions and often sought to have her own way. Occasionally, she walked in the forest behind her house, seeking peace in the shelter of nature. This, she knew, nobody could take away from her. Nature... she loved it above all else.

Given the charge of being the guardian of an egg which belonged to a banned species, Letty was shocked that the creature she was taken care of could take on human form.
