Asher was always fascinated with the curly hair girl living in the house across his. Slumped on the chairs with the cup of coffee, he often found her sitting in her balcony alone. She had an uncanny ability to draw his attention towards her and fill him with curiosity.

But these high rise buildings were hidding screams which only the skies could hear. One day, when a secret is revealed, up in the clouds, a crime is committed in that house, he has to decide, whether he wants to stay silent and hide the truth or speak up and maybe destroy a life.

"Ahhhhh what did I just do?!" I screamed. This question wasn't just about the mirror, it was about tonight, and frankly this whole crush on Oliver. It was ridiculous, absurd, unorthodox, and worst of all, it felt like a part of my heart had been ripped out. I grabbed a small broom and dust-pan, kneeling down and sweeping up the glass-covered floor. And as I was walking to put the shards in the garbage, I took one last look at myself in the broken shards. I made eye contact with my mirrored image, and I swore a solemn and silent oath to myself, "Never again." The forming of those words from my mouth had created a newfound feeling of freedom. A numbing sensation that prevented my emotions from surfacing. I had promised myself to never be vulnerable like that ever again. ******* What if the food chain turned on us? This is the question that defined the life of teenage protagonist: Amara Finley and her best friend: Oliver Macleod. All plant-life had come to life in a supernatural phenomenon that everyone had begun to call the "Bloom", and for some strange reason the plants began to attack humans. Their life and their world is dominated by plants, and with what little hope humanity had left, they fight with the winged brigade in hopes to rescue the world. Why did this happen? What caused the plants to go ballistic on humans? Is the brigade all that it appears? Will Oliver ever see her as more than a friend? ******* Oliver Macleod is in shock, and in grief. His loved one is brutally taken away from him. He doesn't know what to do with himself. Feelings of rage and sorrow transform into doubt and unbelief. The loss of this loved one is so prominent that it compels him to seek answers about their death. The more he looks, the less he finds. He begins to question if they truly are dead, or if it was all just one massive cover-up. When secrets are discovered and questions are answered he realizes that the brigade is not all that it seems.

Five Star Reviews for Atlantis Academy: "Omg this book was amazing I couldn't put it down or stop reading. I carried it with me open on my phone while I did everything just to keep reading. I need more of all of this. Epic story, epic content, epic visuals, just epic. LOVE THIS!" "Once I got into this story, I did not stop reading it. This is a beautiful story about a very awkward girl who is riven with so much pain and angst and yet... this makes her who she is and shapes her into the person she will become. The world she finds herself awakened to is magical and yet filled with the all-too-familiar cliques and tribes of the very human people who inhabit it. One word to describe the story: beautiful!" "The story pulls you headlong to the end and leaves you wanting to shout "No! Not yet!" ...If there were 6 stars, I would have given it that." *** Humanity is one secret society away from extinction. The children of Atlantis use magic to keep us safe. If they make it through the Academy. Hi, I'm Lyric. And I'm kind of a mess. ADHD, that's me. I'm a high school drop-out, late everywhere I go, and one screw-up away from being homeless. I'm a loner, and I like it that way. Who needs friends when you have a Redwood forest nearby? Trees never bully me like the kids did at school. Or get drunk and throw things at my head. After my mom died, I figured life couldn't get much worse. I thought it might even get better. Ha. The universe has a great sense of humor. I should've listened to the rumors about evil spirits. About the angry, ancient magical creatures haunting our small Oregon Coast town. But did I? No. That was my first mistake. And it might be my last. 'Cause now I'm in a battle for my life. A whole new world has opened up... a magical world I don't understand. And the blood in my veins says I belong here. But I have to prove myself to save myself. And when have I ever done that?
Scattering Lilac Ashes by Jasfysh

"You've just been staring at me all day. Are you good?" Lila Moloney's insatiable curiosity had landed on Asher Wagner, the long-running Dux of her cohort at the prestigious Forestglade College. No longer the prim and proper poster child for their school's strict regimes upon returning from summer holidays, Lila couldn't shake the feeling that there was something disturbing lurking beneath this change. Perhaps it was the way that he spoke to her, upon being paired for an English project, or the way that his askew tie and tousled hair was so jarringly mismatched from the usual tendencies that he'd had over the past nine years. Year after year, he put in the most amount of effort out of anyone in their cohort in all facets of the College's metrics of pride - attendance, intelligence, sporting prowess, rule-following, and uniform-wearing - but now, when faced with their last two years at school, he looked to be giving up. Lila was dead-certain that he was hiding something, her voracious appetite for answers being practically genetic. But, as she starts to dig for answers, she discovers that everyone surrounding them has secrets they're trying to hide, practically begging to be revealed - including her emerging feelings for Asher. Will she uncover the truth underpinning his transformation? Or will it remain elusive, obscured by the concealed desires, goals and identities of those around her - including her own family? And just how is she meant to survive the trials and tribulations of high school life whilst pursuing the verity of the mysteries shrouding everything she thought she knew? And remember - trust no one, not even the missing. *Set in Australia | Mystery and romance are main themes | Note - swearing present, though not excessive | Posting Mondays & Fridays | CWs: Stalking, bullying, sexual harassment, vague references to suicide, violent murder of a person under 18 [note - fair way into the story and not glorified]*
