Exonerate Me

'It' had been poured out and splattered onto the entirety of the room; the phrases I could never say, the explanations he could not muster, and most of all, viscous guilt. It was seeping into the cracks on the floor, into the lines on his pale hands, and staining the fabric encasing our bodies. Why he he was there in the first place, I had no answer. And what confused me more, was the fact that he had disappeared from my life so long ago and had returned so suddenly.... and for what? I would never know...
