Shelby is a mental hospital patient who gets lost in her stories. She loves writing, she falls for a guy named Ryan who is way to obsessive and they start dating. Shelby starts writing her and Ryan's story into a Romance novel, naming Ryan in the story as Darren. Darren seems to good to be true to Shelby and soon finds herself falling in love with him as well, not knowing he is not real. Ryan things she's cheating on him and starts following her everywhere, even stoops so low to sneak into her room and search for clues. What he finds is the story that Shelby has been writing and tells her to choose, Darren or him.
