Mother nature is taking back her land by force. By disease. She's playing a game and mankind are her chess pieces.
I'm Nate Higen. I'm a killer, a thief, a bandit. And now I'm entrusted with a nine year olds life... I was in a group of bandits until now, not out of desire to do wrong but out of desire to survive in this harsh world - for almost a year creatures with a taste for flesh have been roaming and civilization has fallen apart.
But right now my priority is to get this little girl to a military camp up in Washington - I don't know how someone so young will handle this harrowing journey but I will do everything I can to ensure we make it. But the thing is, those creatures? They're are the least of our problems...

Allie Walsh was a peculiar child. Her head was always in the clouds at the worst of times, but she was loved by so many. At just 6 years old, her world began to crumble but she held on, pacing herself, and praying each night that she would survive happily. But, people change, and growing up surrounded by death and disease can bring out the worst in people. Some believe she went insane. Others say she was born that way. But no matter what happened to Allie Walsh, one thing is for sure, despite her peculiarities, she bled red just like everybody else. Each episode is 1 chapter, so chapter length will depend on the episode length, and also how much of that episode I can add my OC into. All chapters will be atleast 2000 words, but some may be much more than that. My OC becomes the adopted child of Maggie and glenn. Just thought I'd put that out there before anyone is wishing for a daryl daughter kinda situation. Love him but it's overdone. Sorry.

~Thank you for the continued love for this series! I was 13 when I began this book, and am now taking the time to go back to completely rewrite it, and maybe just publish someday~ I'm 15 and my name is Astrix. Let's start with that. That seems like an easy thing to start with. Now, let me add in some other details. I live in a zombie apocalypse. Yeah, that's about as enjoyable as I can make it seem. Trying to survive the apocalypse isn't just about slaying the undead. It's a 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 lot more complicated than that. Hardly anybody ever considers the barbaric murderers with the Cheshire Cat smiles or the cunning killers lurking around for their next victim to slice open. Or what about the huge range of communities out there, trying their best to thrive in the new world? Surely, not all of them are bad... right? Well, Brooklyn Scotts would be inclined to disagree to that last point made. For the girl has been surviving on her own since it all started, joining and leaving small groups here and there.
