Toby/Tubbo, better know as Alesha by the people around him, was put into the foster system when he was fourteen after a tragic incident in his family when he was eleven. His home, which was located on the more dangerous side of town, was robbed, resulting in his parents death, and the kidnapping of him and his sister, Lani. Lani was killed next to him just a few weeks later. Tubbo was eleven when he was taken, and fourteen when he was rescued and put until the system. He bounced from home to home for some months for either "being to quiet" or "not being able to take a joke," when the joke caused him a panic attack from his two years of trauma. Other homes just didn't want to take on the trouble of caring for a traumatized kid once they found out how "hard" it was. One day, when Tubbo is put in a home with a family of four, the dad of the other three and one of the kids, who is Tubbo's age, take a strong liking to Tubbo, who they thinks his name is Alesha and is a girl. Life takes you to mysterious places. I thought I knew all there was to know, but apparently, I've been living a lie. And yes, it's crazy. Who knew that I would find out like that? Who knew? I sure as hell didn't. Life is really messed up sometimes. Why did this happen to me? In fact, what else is there to know? Is my name really mine? Am I really seventeen years old? At this point, I don't even know who I am. Who am I? I am alone. In need of answers. Will I ever get them? How far is anyone really to go for answers? I mean, what would you do? Where would you go? Who do you turn to? I need answers. How do I get them? Life is painful and deceptive. It is filled with hate, rage, and lies. Why can't that change? Why do people lie? Is it for protection? Now, he must learn how to trust his newfound family and find that it's okay to be dependent on others. But after so many years of only relying on only himself, Wilbur struggles to do that. I've written 3 anonymous online journals so far in my life. The first was as an adolescent, ending when, at 19, I commenced a long term relationship in which my partner had an issue with me writing about my thoughts and feelings in case they were about her. I also had to cease my other creative outlet - drawing. Because she felt it's abstracted nature hid secret messages about her. The second started when that relationship was coming to an end. I needed an outlet. I had nobody to talk to about what I was going through so I secretly started writing again. This is that second journal, when I was around 25 years old, which I've taken from it's retired blogger page and have transferred here. Part of the reason I am doing this is because my daughter, who was very young at the time of writing this, has expressed some curiosity about my journal. One day when she's older and has more life experience it might be OK to see what I'm writing now, but in the meantime, she can read this, a moment in my life for which she was present but that she could not understand at the time.
