Nick is anything but the average 17 year old girl. How cliche, right? Abused by her father, forgotten by her only friend, and left behind by her mother, Nick spends much of her time diving into the world of self-mutilation, alcohol, and drugs. She's hopeful her self-destructive behavior will end in her death, but has yet to overcome her fear of the afterlife. She's not afraid to die, of course, but of what comes after.

Asher is the perfect 18 year old athletic boy until his dark past causes his family to uproot their life and move across country where he meets a hauntingly strange girl with secrets scarier than his own. After gaining the cold and bitter friendship of Nick, Asher secretly robs her of the only thing she wants in hope of showing her another way.
