When you are running from darkness you tend to look for the light that will help you but what if the darkness is what saves you?
20 year old Alexandria Lane Pierce has been running since she was 16 after watching her father marry another woman after her mother has an "accident" that causes her to go into a coma that she still has yet to come out of, she is running away from her father and his abusive wife.
What happens when she runs into a club owned by one of the richest men in the world: Zander Griffin the 25 year old son of a multi millionaire, he's the most eligible bachelor in the United States but he can't help but wonder about the girl who ran in his office scared to death in a short dress and high heels.
