Hakuouki - Cherry Blossom

In the dead of the night, a time where everyone should be asleep, where the darkness would take over, only leaving the moon which was high up in the sky, as the only light source. This time, however, this was not the case.

A fire had broken out and spread itself around the whole neighbourhood. As the townspeople did their best to put out the fire, none of them had noticed the young woman inside one of the burning houses, holding her young baby tightly to her chest for dear life.

Trying her best to find a way out of the house, the woman carried her daughter with her, covering the girl's nose and mouth with her kimono, leaving herself exposed to the smoke. Soon enough, she broke down to the ground, coughing violently before she slowly but surely started to lose consciousness, causing the young girl beside her to panic and cry. The young girl watched as her mother lost consciousness and died before her very eyes.

The fire around her engulfing her mother's motionless body, swallowing it whole.
