The door completely closed and the band on the small girl’s wrist turned blue. She started knocking on the glass, tears starting to stream down her face as she begged to be let in, glancing behind her constantly; sobbing softly, before she gave up looking and just slumped to the floor, weakly banging on the glass now.
She had short black hair and dark skin, and I hazarded a guess of her being maybe being 14, 15 at most.
I saw the man behind her before she did. He was stalking towards us, shockingly graceful, brown hair slicked back in an old fashioned quiff, blue eyes flashing menacingly set in a pale face. When he reached the door he fell to his knees and gently pulled the young girl onto his lap.
He carefully undid the bow at the back of her neck, and her black ribbon fluttered to the floor, like a black bird who had had it’s wings broken and was trying to fly. Then like a coiled wiper he striked, and I turned my head away in disgust
Ari and Soren's adventures continue as Soren struggles with his new vampiric urges and a coven of witches attempts to recruit Ari for their own ends.
*****
As dark dreams plague Soren, Ari finds his new abilities difficult to control. Something is awakening within him, and as his power grows, he attracts the attention of a group of witches who call themselves the Hecataeon. They believe Ari is an emanation of the goddess Hecate - a physical manifestation of her power - and they want that power for themselves. With their relationship facing challenges from within, Ari and Soren must find a way to unite their strengths before external forces tear them apart.
