Hi, my name is Patrice, here's a snippet of my life: I held Alicia tightly in my arms, hoping that he wouldn't hit me if I was holding her. I was wrong. I saw the fury in his eyes and said, "Don't hit me because I don't want you anymore. I want you to leave and never come back." He smiled, shook his head no, "you are mine, and you will always be MINE!" that's when he pulled the scissors from behind his back and said, "come here!" that's when I said to myself, he's really going to try to kill me. I mean, he had hit me before but I had never seen this kind of rage. He came towards me, I tried to keep the coffee table between us but it didn't work. I decided right in that moment that I was not going to take it anymore and I was in not going to die not today. I was going to fight back this time.
