Twelve years after the events at Westin Hills Asylum, Justin and Summer are raising their son, Dylan. They both have jobs and live in L.A. Porter and Nova are also raising their children James and Holly, who are twins. When Freddy comes after Dylan, James, and Holly, it's up to their parents to save them. Freddy is much stronger and is able to control the children at will. The three of them become paranoid like their parents once were years before.
