A coming of age story told through text alone, 'A Modern Love Story' is about Victor, a boy in his freshman year of high school. Victor is a young man who is both like and unlike many other young men. He, too, is in love and he, too, struggles to fit in. Unlike others, Victor is in love with one of his best friends, and he is perfectly popular at his school. He struggles to fit in, in the local drag community and in his household. Victor's life gets interesting one night when his crush and best friend texts a girl that he loves her, and Victor is left to pick up the pieces of his best friend's heart. Soon, though, they devise a plan. Pretending to be a couple in order to make the girl jealous, a surprising amount of things happens as a result.
