Sponge Cake

Inspired by the book "Pie" by Sarah Weeks.

Synopsis:
Carrie doesn't get along with people. She's genuienly awkward and unassuming and by proxy she is strange. Carrie knows she'll never have things handed to her nor will she be magically whisked away to a grand new world where boys fall all over her and fight for her attention. Accepting her reality, Carrie confines herself to her late cousin's bakery as a pastry chef. When a new boy comes to town she can't help but be intrigued by him, and the fact that he adores her desserts provides Carrie with an open door to new perspectives of her world. As time goes by with her new friend she starts to question her long held traditions regarding her surroundings, and begins to understand what she cousin means by "A teaspoon of salt and a cup full of sugar."

I heard the words "Sponge Cake" on a tv show as I was pondering over a story to write. This is my first Wattpad Story and will likely be where I try to get creative juices flowing, and where I'll unblock writers block.

This story will be similar to Sarah Weeks' book "Pie"; an influential story for my creativity as a writer. Even though it's not meant for a high reading level I still advise all to purchase and read the book. Or go to a library and read it. Libraries are cool.

I request all who read my story to leave critiques and suggestions on where to improve as well as to point out and grammatical, spelling, or literary mistakes I make.
