This is a sonnet I wrote for my British and Literature class as an assignment we had to do. My teacher liked it a lot and complimented me on it, so I hope you enjoy it as much as she did.
It's about my great great great grandparents on my dad's side of the family that immigrated from Romania to America. At the time, a lot of immigrants from Ireland, Germany, Italy, Romania, and other countries facing problems, such as the potato famine in Ireland.
I had actually got the inspiration from an Irish poem called, "Mo bhrón ar an bhfarraige", (My grief on the sea). It's written in Gaelic but I have the English translation.

There is many things we keep a secret, for many differemt reasons. We all have secrets, big or small. America is no exception. He has swept many things under the rug, and one day, he has to leave for an unknown reason. The countries know he has secrets, but how many, and are they important? Dangerous?
