AD 2049. From the ashes of the Third World War, a new society emerged. Lifeless tenements rise up from the ground, drenched in neon and toxic fog. Below, corporate soldiers and hired hitmen do battle in the streets for money and renown. Corporate greed and technological malfeasance rule the urban hell of post-apocalyptic England. Amidst the high tech and low life, a washed-up bounty hunter takes on an opportunity to get back into the game, only to get more than he bargained for. Blood, romance, chrome and conspiracy await Donovan "Reaper" Grimm in the chaos of the new world. The first part of what will hopefully be an expansive series of cyberpunk adventures.

The year is 2063. Technology in the 21st century has progressed beyond what anyone has ever dreamt of. Artificial intelligence has become an integral facet of everyday life, from transportation, business, and even in the world of medicine where many pay top dollar to have their organic forms cybernetically enhanced with technology and A.I. for life longevity. But at the same time, this technology is used to create synthetic android weapons of war. Among those weapons, a former Nation's Army combat android by the designation of AX-15. After being critically incapacitated in action, AX-15 was rendered unfit for service and was practically thrown out onto the streets. However, the android had been discovered by a smooth-talking mercenary that still found use for the combat androids' capabilities and given him the new name of Axis. The two go on to become the most feared hitmen in the underground, going by the name "Machina Mortis". Axis, with programmed loyalty to the mercenary and to the contract, suddenly has a glitch in his programming after an unexpected development during a mark which causes him to break from his prime directives and ignite a part of himself that Axis didn't know had existed.
