SO we had to do a picture book for class, and in light of recent events in Australia, I decided to do it about Marriage Equality. The results of the vote were announced today, which was YES so I thought I'd post this.

Second No More, a novel
I've dreamed of the perfect marriage ever since I was a little girl: a marriage complete with a hardworking husband while I tended to the home and our children, preferably four little rugrats to call my own. I dreamed of a life filled with laughter, joy, and success, a life we built together. I dreamed of growing old next to my husband, creating a great love story to tell our grandchildren someday. It all seemed so possible. I was raised to be the perfect wife, after all. From the outside, it seemed I had exactly what I dreamed of with the rich, determined husband; the brilliant, gaudy diamond ring; and the beautiful home filled with the hope of future children. Yes, it was all a dream come true. I should have felt grateful, really. The problem is, I also wanted a marriage based on love, passion, and affection, but those are the only things my husband cannot give me . . . . . . because they're reserved for her. TSZ Magazine: June 2016 (Issue #1)
Happy Pride Month everybody! Last year we all stood proudly as gay marriage was finally legalized in all 50 states within the US, but this year let's stand and remember all four corners of the world where we are still a far cry from actual acceptance . In this issue of The Safe Zone magazine, we discuss what it means to be gay in an illegal world. The devastating effects of a world where being free to love whomever you wish is still not a part of the constitution. Ryan takes us through the journey of coming out; a struggle many of us have faced or are still yet to face and because we know this is a life long journey we take an educational look at different genders and sexuality within the community. Also, look out for our monthly competition and all the amazing campaigns we will be featuring and interviewing throughout the month of June. Stand gay and proud! When The Nights Get Long
I know using they/them as pronouns seems a little threatening, but there are a lot of people who use it as their pronouns, and this is for them. But the book is written in a clear way where you won't get confused. So please give it a read. Everyone does for your books. **** Blue. A fitting name for the gender neutral pianist of a punk rock band. A name that expresses the amount of guilt that weighs one down, as well as the depression sinking one's heart. But blue is a beautiful color, one of clear skies and shining water. Just like the person, the color Blue is a lot of things. Many years ago, Blue's parents died in a car crash, resulting in their older brother Luke to raise them with the help of his best friend, Andrew. Andrew had always been accepting of Blue, making sure they always felt safe in his presence. Of course, they always assumed he was merely playing nice due to the fact he was in love with Luke. When Blue's grades begin to falter, Andrew agrees to help tutor them, bringing them closer together. Through their friendship, he helps them learn how to deal with life as the nights get long and how to begin to ask for what they want without guilt, even if it means wanting to be with him. *This book is inspired by the anime Junjou Romantica, though it is far more appropriate than that anime, so you will notice some correlation.
