Biomedical advance allows scientists to decode citizens' DNA sequence at birth. The genome information is accessible to big corporations and as a result citizens are divided in genetic teams.

Coral and her older sister, Eleanor, are both Coppers, dealing with a low life standard. Meanwhile, Purgation is more widely spoken among people and looks like a new hope for the end of the discriminations. 

What Coral though does know, is that every promise of the government, matches with another lie.
