A man by the name of Augustine is stuck in a world where the apocalypse is rising. There are cures for the infection, but they are only temporary. There are five evolution stages, and once someone goes past the second, the cure won't work on them anymore. The first cure, Azanill, will prevent you from turning into one of the infected. Lethiccl 2 will turn someone who already is walking as an infected back into a human, but it doesn't last for very long. Augustine and his group are striving, but how long will it stay like that? The living constantly attacks one another, they're the real threat. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Zombies were said to be impossible, that they'd never happen, well obviously whoever said that had underestimated human curiosity. It started with the melting of the Poles, which uncovered diseases that hadn't been seen in millennia. Obviously, when a flesh-eating parasitical virus was found, scientists in all their glory decided to study it, which led to the greatest calamity in human history. Warning: This is the original book 1, it is now considered more of a prelude/building character relationships arc than a book. This provides backstory and sets the foundation for the characters and their relationships.
