Adrenaline running through my veins, the rush of blood to my head, my heart beating rapidly, pain searing through my already-sore muscles; this was such a familiar feeling, a feeling I got so used to, to the point I enjoyed. I looked around there was 2 people behind me, 2 ahead of me. I jumped aside from a obstacle and kicked aside a boxing bag. Running with all my might I passed the person ahead of me. One more to go. This was easy. Sprinting with only 10 seconds on the timer I dashed through a maze of thorns passing the person in front, ignoring my muscles pleading to stop. My vision saw a flash of light, bingo. Eying the prize I avoided the traps and snatched the coin. I had won. I Aurum Mortem, had just won The Maze of Assassin Runs of 2017.

When I first met him, he was feral-like a smart Neanderthal. He blended with the Oregon forest like the predator himself, but at least this one, you could look at. I was just trying to get justice for my friend, chasing a story that felt too important to ignore. But instead of answers, I found Aaron Hallam. I nearly died protecting him in my own home, and when I thought he was gone for good-erased by LT, I threw it all away. Moved back to New York. Tried to start over. Then, just when I thought I'd left it behind, I ended up on a blind date with a predator of a different kind. I almost became another missing girl, trafficked and forgotten. But Aaron-the supposedly dead fugitive-came back like a ghost, slashing the bastard up before he could lay a hand on me. Now I'm stuck with him again. And honestly? I'm good right here.
