Her Porcelain Heart

"My heart, although hard, is fragile." She sighed, looked into his eyes and smiled warmly. "You won't stay if I tell you my secret, so for now at least, I won't tell you."

He looked intently into her eyes and tightened his fists. "I swear on my very existence that I will love you even after you tell me about your past." His mouth was dry and he shook a bit with anticipation, only stopping after seeing how dark her eyes had grown.

"When the time comes, that is." She looked up curiously, her eyes filled with confusion. "You don't want me to tell you?" he sighed a bit and she looked away from his eyes. "Of course I do, but I don't expect you to tell me now if you aren't comfortable with telling me yet. Your story is yours to tell."

Her heart skipped a beat and she fiddled with her extremely long auburn colored hair. Surprisingly, she looked up at him and smiled warmly. "Any guy that's willing to put up with me and deal with my crazy life is worth a chance in my book."
