There are two kinds of people in this world, normal people like you and me, and the Strays that are ridiculed because they're not fully human. I'd like to think why we aren't treated the same, but I'm just a normal human girl. What can a person like me do to change something as big as the status of Strays in society? Well, when your father runs a cafè that's a bit understaffed, sometimes you can get desperate.
Any song lyrics or quotes that I use in this book that aren't my own are credited at the end of the chapter that they are featured in if I don't directly recognize it in the story itself. I highly recommend that you check out their work if it appeals to you.

I have discontinued writing this story, though I will make an edited second version. This version will remain up, so feel free to read as you like, but I will not be posting new parts for this.

*please I wrote this story at 16/17. I'm 28 and I crying because I would rewrite this in a heartbeat especially coz I sound crazy* so read with caution* I fell in love. I fell in love with a fairytale. Oh Yes I did. You know that one story that gives every little girl hope out there that good things comes to those who wait even in rare but simple gems like a glass slipper. This hope carried me far and beyond. It's a fairytale that is relatable to any prospect of life. There will be your evil stepmother and evil stepsisters, your fairy godmother and your one true prince. It is a fairytale that understands the element of surprise: That what we seek can sometimes appear right in front of us without knocking on our doors. Most especially, it's a fairytale that understand the importance of love: A true prince may not come in shape of perfection but regardless of the imperfections and flaws, he would still remain perfect in your eyes. Regardless of its flaws, Africa was my father and Nigeria was my prince. Africa was my birthplace, born to the greatest warriors on the planet: Shaka Zulu, Nelson Mandela, Cleopatra, Kofi Annan even Didier Drogba the famous footballer. Most especially it was my home. As I leave, the cold British wind greets me. I zip up my sweater, and start walking home. Thanks to my parents, I don't have a car. "You're too irresponsible for a car, Courtney. You can always save up for one once you leave this house," my father had scoffed when I asked him. I walk at a fast pace, hoping to avoid any random strangers lurking in the dark streets. "Hey, darling. What are you doing all alone in the dark?" I hear a voice ask. I pick up his deep, British accent. I ignore him, and start jogging. Just a few more streets... I hear his swift feet, and he grabs me from behind, pressing a wet cloth on my face. He drags me behind a building. My muffled screams are the only noise in the silent night. I try to break from his strong, yet careful hold. I wiggle under his grip, but he only lets out a sigh. "Shhhhh...don't scream...everything will be alright...shhhh..." he whispers. I feel warm tears slide down my face, and my eyesight blurs, and I stop screaming and escaping. The last thing I see are the swaying trees. Then... I actually did this story about over a month ago, I had just accidentally deleted it, so......yeah. Don't judge please! But, needless to day I am doing the story again so please read, if you like cool, if not, cool. I just love writing. So this story is based off of the villain's perspective. Here we go. No-one has ever loved me. Not one, except my mother, but she is dead now. Because of one word. Humans. They think they know everything, always trying to better the world when they are actually destroying it. Yet they blame me for everything, everything. Not one of them is different. They're all the same. I should know, since they are always out to get me almost every single day. But why do they blame me?
