Imagine this. A childhood friend. A lifelong friend. One that breaks the bonds of time. He's loved her his whole life. She's loved him just as long. She loves him no matter what he looks like. She fell in love with his soul. With his words. He thinks she's too beautiful to even stand in his presence.

Picture a war. One that carries another friend away. Swept up in the "grand adventure" of it all. Steve longs to go. She wants him to stay, but when opportunity knocks he answers the door.

At first it's not what Steve Rogers expects but it's something Willow Peterson wants. Steve is out of danger but still helping. When word reaches him that their lifelong friend Bucky might be captured and held hostage by Hydra, Steve doesn't hesitate and jumps straight into the battle. When his letter reaches Willow she grows increasingly worried, wondering if the boy she loves will do his best to keep himself out of trouble.
