They'd use the word stuck to describe it.
The older one ended up welcoming it. She lost everything, and she wanted out of her life. Was drinking human blood really such a terrible price to pay? Life had been horrible to her, so now she'd be horrible to it too.
The younger one didn't welcome it. She realized what would happen to her sister a little too late. It was her fault, it always had been. Everything her sister lost was her fault. Once she figured it out, everything was done. So now she's stuck in a house in middle of no where, waiting for the sister she betrayed to get her out.
You'd think the lives of Charlotte and Victoria are as messed up as it gets, but you're wrong.

"I didn't think that the first night at my new college would end with me getting my back broken. And not in the fun way. I'm kind of annoyed about it. Not how I wanted to kick this year off. I got into my dream school, University of Miami. Big change from New York but I've loved this school since I found out what college was. I was looking forward to this for a while. I had decided to spend my first two years at a nearby community college to get my pre rec classes out of the way and save money. It was definitely a good idea, but the vibe of the school was: go to class, go home, and that's it. So to get to a big university I was excited for that cliche "college experience." Hailey are we old enough for this?" she nods so I take a sip. It was disgusting but I felt like I should drink more so I drank the rest. Hailey had already gone to order more, and I stumbled towards her. A man grabbed me dragging me towards the back door and Hailey ran over trying to grab me. She screamed trying to get people to help but they were all distracted. The man stuck something in my arm and threw me in a van. He shut the door and Hailey ran inside to call the police.
