Troy and Gabriella have been East High's power couple for two years now, however all is not as it seems. When the two talents fall out over Gabriella's chance at a recording contract, Troy only has Ryan to turn to. As their small chats become regular, Troy starts to notice something that doesn't quite make sense to him and Ryan can't deny the butterflies he gets when Troy's around. When the two boys hit the road in need of some time and space away from their drama filled lives, emotions and desires become too much. Ryan insists that their relationship will be purely physical but can Troy comply without letting himself fall in love again? East High's reputation hangs in the balance as the media zeroes in on Troy's sudden disappearance from the spotlight and reluctance to step foot back on the basketball court.
