The icy moon is notorious for failed probe landings and research missions that end in tragedy: the only people to ever venture to its surface needed rescuing after just two weeks. When a prestigious research group decides they want a turn, they ask Alex Gallegos to lead the team. Perfectly qualified and haunted by their past, Alex accepts, hoping to make up for old mistakes and get just a little further from the earth they've left behind. Two months into the seven-month mission, the team is struggling with discontent, damaged equipment, and blizzards acting less and less like normal weather. As Mahaha moves out of range of help and the storms take on a more malicious character, Alex must face the one foe they could never have prepared for. Mahaha may or may not be alive. ❖❖❖ Complete. [#WATTYS2018 LONGLIST] On Earth, a conspiracy theorist stumbles across the wreckage of a spacecraft. There are two corpses in strange uniforms. One is an alien - the other is not. In space, a young human agent watches in horror as the images are beamed around the world, putting the entire project to integrate humanity into the Commonwealth of Orion at risk. And across the darkness between stars, an alien armada gathers its forces, and aims them right at Earth. Deep in a cave on a remote island lies the key to everything; a small beacon containing the directions to the Hub, the crossroads of the Commonwealth. If the aliens find it and use it to access the Commonwealth's complex network of Starbridges linking its worlds together, the rest of the galaxy will be at their fingertips. Only one person knows where the beacon lies... ...for now.

Nobody expects something supernatural to happen to them. Those kind of things only happened in comics. Fairy Tales. Unrealistic dreams that you'd fall asleep to, silently wishing for them to come true. At least, that was what these three teenagers thought. It turns out that there is so much more to their simple universe than they ever could have imagined. After each finding a strange alien artifact, the teens are suddenly thrusted into an intergalactic war. Alien species everywhere are trying to hunt down the most powerful weapons in the galaxy. And they are the ones in possession of it. When they run into a girl that claims to be from another planet, the three kids learn about the power given to them and the responsibilities that come along with it. Instantly, they are the most popular people in the galaxy. And for once, popularity couldn't feel more like a curse. Fighting grudges, fear, and distrust, the Chosen humans must travel to the one place on Earth where they might be safe. And with strange new powers, the teenagers struggle to live in the unfamiliar world they thought they knew so well.

|WATTYS 2022 WINNER - HORROR| Shawn, a convicted criminal, never thought she'd see the sun again, let alone call another star system her home. When she's offered an out from her prison sentence, she embarks on a dangerous interstellar expedition along with 18 of Earth's most intelligent criminals. Their task is to set up a base on a supposedly habitable planet and prepare it for colonization. Although the planet has liquid water and a breathable atmosphere, it is believed to host only microbial life. However, upon arriving, Shawn and the rest of the colonists learn that assumption was grossly incorrect. In a brutal attack from rampaging wildlife, everyone but Shawn and four other colonists are killed. The five survivors retreat to the cavernous network beneath the ground seeking safety, but they soon come to a terrible discovery. These caves aren't ordinary caves, and they are no safer down under than they were on the surface. [][][] This was originally my entry for the 2021 Open Novella Contest, and it received an honorable mention! It has now been expanded into a full length novel. I used prompt number 53: "When wildlife starts rampaging, all the humans are forced underground. However, they come to a terrible discovery that being underground is no safer than being on the surface."

❝I woke without a past, but a stranger insists I hold our future...❞ * * * Aliens have invaded Earth, and not the cute harmless ones like ET. These aliens are about the size of our pinky fingers but the pain and destruction they've caused is immeasurable. We call them the 'Lechem'. Parasites that attach to a person's brainstem and are able to control their thoughts, actions, and emotions. When the lechem took over my body my fate had been sealed. I was supposed to die. But I didn't. After waking up from a coma I have no recollection of my past life and strangely enough, my dreams are being haunted by a mysterious man who seems to believe that I am humanity's last hope.
