The Ghost of New York

Meet Viola Conlon, Princess of Brooklyn and twin sister to Spot Conlon, the King of Brooklyn. They ruled side by side, but when the twins have a fallout, Viola renounces her crown and heads out of the only home she's ever known. No longer apart of any Burrow, she navigates through New York and gains a name for herself. She's been to every inch of the city searching for a new beginning with no luck. How can a girl avoid being caught by Snyder, avoid the spies sent by her brother, and make a living? By becoming a ghost.

They called themselves Newsies. Each portion of the city had it's own bunch of Newsies, known as Burrows. And within each Burrow, there was a leader, typically the eldest. There was one Newsie that only belonged to the city, no Burrow to identify with. They were known throughout New York as the Ghost of New York. She had more power over New York than Spot Conlon, the King of Brooklyn, had. So it was no surprise when anyone wanted the support of others that these were the two to ally with."
