As a person of color and of the LGBTQIA+ community, I often wish for my story to be heard in the midst of dominating voices and repression. Now it's my turn to speak. You will hear me. I always felt father wishes I had died instead of her,I grew up afraid of my father,so that was one reason why I got straight A's in school. I'm not Gay, I'm Homosexual
The word gay has been synonymous of liberation, fight, human rights, homosexuality, lesbianism, etc but it has become synonymous of excess, abuse of freedom, hatred, self-loathing as well among men and women who feel the emotional and physical desire to be with somebody of their own sex. I do not wish to diminish in any way the important role of the gay liberation movement, the point I'm making is a reflection on how this generous and initially noble action has been tinted by fanatism and dogmatism. One that nobody seems to want to talk about because accusations of homophobia or hatred may be used against. We may not hit each other but the power of words has been used constantly against each other diminishing, offending and alienating us. Words can hit stronger than a fist and we have become very good at it. "Silly boy - you dare ask me that question?" I frown at him instantly - taken aback when he gripped my chin. Yanking me close enough towards him, our lips almost touched. The look in his eyes was one I've seen in wild animals who can't control their animalistic behaviors. Except this one was different...it held desire - which I wasn't for at all. "I became Unhinged because of you." That's when I saw him begin to lean towards me, and wasn't having this any longer. I shove my hand onto his lips right when he was about to kiss me.
