"And why should we trust you?" Theo countered. Indi elbowed him in the ribs, scolding him for being so abrupt and rude. Maddix glared at his brashness, but she had to agree with him. They had no reason to trust this stranger.
"Because," Everett said with a hopeful face, "I just saved your lives." He had a good point. "Besides, you are all a lot more dangerous than I am."

Power is a raw, untamable commodity that few can control. Even fewer are granted such potential. But those who are granted such capability must be wary.
This has become the reality for six teenagers living in Dorlos, a country held in a malevolent king's iron grip. They cannot risk exposing themselves by using their powers but, under masks, they are able to save people's lives and hopefully, save their beloved homeland from continual danger. To their dismay, this one power outlet could prove to be their downfall.
They are suddenly thrust into a world of lies, secrets, and betrayal. With enemies in every direction, they are forced to live by one simple rule: kill or be killed. Will they buckle under the pressure or stand strong? It is a fight for complete power, and they are stuck in the middle of it.

Unable to stay awake in classes from her late nights, her grades are dropping fast, and to top it off her exhaustion has she left friendless. When saving late night employees from a burning building puts Taylor in the path of a dangerous criminal, she ends up in an altercation that forces her to realize she needs help. Help comes from two unlikely people: Clint and Dominic who bring their own complications. Lydia's friend, Daniel, is also and assassin. Lydia has to travel all around Abithia and serve her group known as The Shadows, a group of assassins feared all around Abithia. A story about superheroes in a modern world. Once, humans and power wielders were at war. The war brought both side to the brink of destruction, forcing peace or extinction. A tentative peace prevailed for a time. Enough to build trust between the two sides for many years. But as the two sides grew together some of the old hatreds began to stir again. Those who held these old hatreds became known as villains, while those who fought them became known as heroes. "Are you sure this will work?" one of the figures around the table ask. All are dressed in black and hide their faces. No one wants to be known to anyone else in 'this' type of alliance. "I'm certain of it. We need to simply kill the few true heroes left, and then expose the rest for the self righteous corrupt creatures they are. I've already started gathering the pieces I need."
