in this dystopian novel, 3 teenagers go against society, not wanting to be controlled by the government. The Refs are the police and government that control everyone's life: what job you get, who you marry, and even where you live. Back in the past, scientists created a liquid that injects into humans to give them a red-looking birthmark. This was to find out who will be the next world leader. Soon that was seen as a threat to the Refs. Everyone with the birthmark was controlled by the Refs or sentenced to death. These three rebels will change the world forever in this fantasy book, with a pinch of romance, plot twists, and a lot of adventure.

Ever thought surviving first period-and facing her best friend's boyfriend, whom she recently kissed-would be the hardest part of her day. She was wrong. The world is ending. Literally. Between dodging awkward hallway interactions with her best friend's boyfriend and dodging the apocalypse, Ever discovers she may be the one person capable of saving mankind. No pressure, right? But just when she's barely wrapping her head around her destiny, a mysterious (and annoyingly handsome) stranger shows up. He drives her crazy, yet somehow feels...familiar. And he just might hold the key to unlocking Ever's forgotten past and to stopping the strange, earth-shattering events unraveling the future. As secrets unfold and loyalties are tested, Ever has to make a choice: walk away from the chaos and pretend the world isn't ending or embrace her destiny and risk everything to save it. After all, being a teenager is hard. Being the savior of humanity? That's a whole new level. *This is book one in a series
