    Royal Hale did not trust anyone.  He had learned that even those with the best of intentions can do evil deeds.  He had barricaded his heart, creating a barrier of ice around it, not allowing anyone in except the people he trusted the most.  He only needed his family, no one else.  So why is it when he looks into those soft, brown eyes the wall of ice surrounding his heart begins to melt away?
