London, England: 1837. Caroline Roberts is a patient at St. John's Mental Institution with advanced schizophrenia at twenty years old. One night, she finds a letter addressed to her in her room. The letter does not have a known author however, it contains a secret that will change her life forever. As time progresses, the letters come more frequently until finally, they stop altogether. Who is the author of these mysterious letters? And how do they know the one thing Caroline keeps secret from everyone, even herself?
