Ma'Layka

Ma'Layka Morris, is a 16 year old teenage girl from Chicago. She struggles daily to get through life-- her mother, a single parent, her absent father which she never met, her violent neighborhood, trying to make ends meet, finishing high school, low self-esteem due to her weight and more. Will the boy she meets be any good for her? Will she fall in love and regret it? Will Ma'Layka become a product of her environment? Or will she fall victim to it?
