Of all the tributes in the Capitol's Hunger Games, only 75 have ever won.
About 1,718 were murdered for sport.
But we've never know anything about them.
Until now.

Every year they are dragged out to the Capitol to mentor tributes who die within the next week. It was now the 75th Hunger Games and the tributes were being chosen from the existing pools of victors. And when Annie was chosen to go back into the arena, Sidney had to volunteer for her.

When Kira Blackwood's name is reaped, she knows she's screwed. How is she supposed to survive in a fight to death with twenty-three other tributes, all of whom want to get out alive as much as she does? Not to mention, the thought of killing somebody twists her stomach into all sorts of unnatural shapes. Despite secretly training for the Games in the cow pastures surrounding her home, and being pretty handy with a knife, Kira's kind heart may be the thing that holds her back the most. However, as she navigates through the opulent world of the Capitol, and then the arena itself, Kira starts to realize that maybe, just maybe, it's not the dead she should pity, but the Victor. After all, no one ever really wins the Hunger Games. Survives, sure. But wins? Never. ~~+~~ Please Note: This is set in a world where the 2nd Rebellion failed. All usurpers were executed (except those pesky star-crossed lovers, who knows where they ran off to), District 13 was destroyed for good (but District 12 was rebuilt, on the basis that the Capitol realized that it actually really needed coal), and the Hunger Games were reinstated. Disclaimer: I don't own any of the rights to the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, or to the Lionsgate adaptation of her books. (Obviously.) All characters of my creation are copyrighted. ~~+~~ Thank you so much for reading this, it really means so much to me!!! :) I hope you enjoy, and love it as much as I do! (Also sorry for the length, I sort have this thing for details... and long, run-on sentences... and long, run-on sentences stuffed with details...) Please note: I don't have a ton of free time, so as much as I love writing this, updating it will probably be super irregular. It's basically completed, the only reason that it's still marked as "ongoing" is bc I still want to write a few more scenes after the Games like the interviews and stuff, maybe of the Victory Tour, but I'm just not super motivated rn, lol.

15 parts Complete

When an Uprising took down all of the districts in Panem besides one, District 13, which was obliterated, The Hunger Games started. Every year one boy and one girl get chosen to go to the Capitol, get pampered, get trained, and then get shoved out into an arena to fight to the death. When Clove Summers is reaped, she can only hope that someone will volunteer for her so she can stay in the comfort of home with the boy she loves, Cato. When no one volunteers, Clove realizes that she will be up against 23 other kids, killing them. And one of those people happen to be Cato. Will their love survive the games or will it tear them apart?
