Long ago, there were ferocious monsters. They ruled the Earth, dominating both the oceans and the land. Humans lived in both fear and awe of them. The only mortals capable of combating these ferocious creatures were those that possessed the much sought after skill of magic.

One night, a mountain village was burned to the ground by the most dangerous of all the monsters, a dragon.  A powerful sorcerer known only as Sadon came to their aide, driving away the dragon and extinguishing the mighty flames. His magic drained after saving the village, he resorted to healing the injured villagers using a healing potion. 

There's only one problem: his apprentice accidentally mixed up the healing potion with an immortality elixir.

Each has a past that was unfair, cruel, demeaning, or tragic. The defining trait they all share though, they may not realize it themselves is despite it all, they haven't given in. When a young man from our world dies doing something his ideal self would have done, he reflects on his life moments before leaving this world.
