The Bell sisters had been locked away from the outside world for years. Their parents, Marissa and Cyrus, while loving and understanding to a point, they were more fearful of the rest of society figuring out Ida and Katie's 'problem'.
Deeming Ida and Katie crazy, they made sure to keep a very close eye on them.

However, that all went to shit when Katie turned eleven.
Her supposed 'saviour' - a man bespectacled, bearded man, whisked her away with her kicking and screaming.
There was no sign of Katie after the incident that tore Ida's heart open.

But all hope wasn't lost for the girl, as she was collected from the prison of a home, she was promised that she would be reunited with her sister once more.
