Just before her light flickered out, I said with a whisper to her lips, "I love you," and I kissed her goodbye. I didn't love her. But she died believing I did, after her father had mercilessly proven to her that he did not. The poor girl. Who had loved her? This is a question I will ask myself for the rest of my life.
But, this is only the beginning. Her death is the beginning to the festering wound inside of Angel O'rion's heart. My heart. This is the genesis of the last of my days.
